Sony rolled the long awaited Android 4.4.4 KitKat update for the very first Xperia Z family including Sony Xperia Z, Xperia ZR and Xperia ZL. For the Xperia ZR, the newfirmware is based on the build number 10.5.1.A.0.283 and packs up a lot of enhancements. Atop is the the latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat by Google. 13. As soon as the phone is detected in Flashmode, the firmware will start flashing, Do not leave the Volume Down key until the process is complete.
14. As soon as you see “Flashing ended or Finished Flashing” leave the Volume Down key, plug the cable out and reboot.
15. That’s All! Congrats! You’ve installed latest Android 4.4.4 kitkat on your Xperia ZR. Enjoy

c) turn off your device and when Flashtool shows pop up window, connect device to PC with holding volume down button
d) Flashtool will check your device and than you need to connect your device once more, now with holding volume up button
e) click on get unlock key button, it will switch you to Sony Mobile website, here select your phone and hit continue
f) fill your email adress and accept terms and conditions, than click submit

12.0.A.2.245 firmware Update seems to fix many bugs. It looks very much similar to Xperia Z android 4.2.2 updates, looks this what Sony Xperia SP got for skipping android 4.2.2  UI is improved very much.

• Semi – Transparent bars added in soft keys panel – menu bar and notification bar ( on homescreen ).

• Some new small apps seen.
• 766 MB Of RAM available for usage.

• Home screen still redraws on booting up.
• White Balance Mode option of camera seems distorted – a bug.
• Soft keys button bar black now, on previous firmware it was grey.
• Wi-Fi issues are fixed, though we never had any.
• Touch more responsive, seems unusual touch response bug fixed.
• No change in battery consumption, it is same as before ( reporting after 24 hours ).
