Samsung’s latest flagship phablet, the Galaxy Note 3 has been launched with both Exynos and Snapdragon variants. While we have already posted about rooting the device and installing custom recovery tool on it, here is the guide to install stock firmware on Galaxy Note 3. In case you ever feel like to restore Galaxy Note 3 to stock firmware, we hope these guidelines will help you out!
Prerequisites to check before you install stock firmware on Galaxy Note 3:
- Backup any important data from your Samsung Galaxy Note 3 as a complete wipe will be required during the flashing process.
- Enable USB debugging option on your device: Settings > Development Options > USB debugging.
- Your device must be charged to at least 60% of power.
How to install stock firmware on Galaxy Note 3 – all models:
Before proceeding to install stock firmware on Galaxy Note 3, check your Note’s model number: Settings > General > About. Then download the firmware for your model of Galaxy Note 3 from the following links:
- Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900
- Galaxy Note 3 Duos SM-N9002
- Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900W8
- Galaxy Note 3 LTE SM-N9005
- Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900S
- T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900T
- Sprint Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900P
Also download the Odin3 for installation from here.
- Install Odin on your computer and launch it.
- Switch your Samsung Galaxy Note 3 off and boot it in Download mode: press and hold Volume Down, Power and Home buttons together. When connected successfully, you will get a message in Odin saying Added!!. (In case you don’t get it, try another USB port. If that doesn’t help either, then re-install USB drivers).
- In Odin make sure that the Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time check boxes are the only options checked and nothing else is.
- Click on PDA on Odin, locate the .tar.md5 file and hit the Start button to initiate the update process.
- When official update installation is successfully completed, on Odin ID:COM will turn green and Odin will show you a PASS message.
Note: In case your device gets stuck at boot screen after installation of official firmware; remove battery; insert back; boot in download mode; perform data wiping tasks and reboot. . In recovery, select the wipe data/factory reset. Go back and reboot your Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
