Flash Android 5.0.1 Lollipop Official Update for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 N910C

The official Android 5.0.1 Lollipop OTA Update is now live for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 devices with the SM-N910C model number. Check the instructions listed in this post in order to learn how to successfully flash the new firmware update for your device manually.
This guide is destined for Note 4 users that are tired of waiting for Samsung to push the official Android 5.0.1 OTA (over-the-air) firmware in their region. Use this post if you are an advanced user and you want to complete the update manually.
Before starting the installation you should read the preparation info below:
  • use this post only with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 smartphone.
    – your phone’s model number should be SM – N900P
    – check your device’s version under Settings> More> About Phone.
    – in case your smartphone features a different model number, then you shouldn’t use this guide.
    – do not install the files that you will find in this post on any other Android devices.
  • download and install the Samsung USB Drivers for your computer.
    – without these drivers installed you won’t be able to flash any of these files on your PC.
  • disable the Samsung KIES app as it might prevent Odin from connecting with your device.
    – all antivirus applications need to be stopped from running on your PC too.
    – if one of these apps are running, then it will block the Odin app from running on your device.
    – Odin3 v3.09 is the one that you will need to use to flash the new firmware files.
  • enable USB Debugging from the Developer Options menu.
    – if Developer Options isn’t shown under Settings, then you shouldenable it first.
  • in case your phone is rooted, then the update will revoke any root access with any other modification that you might’ve applied on your device.
  • if you’ve flashed a custom ROM on your Note 4, then the updating process can be completed, but you will have to apply a ‘factory reset’ process first.
    – the ‘factory reset’ wipes clean the system partition, but it shouldn’t remove any photos, videos, music nor any other types of files from the internal or external storage.
    – ‘factory reset’ instructions are found at the end of this post.
    – if you wish to save some data from installed applications, then you can try the Helium tool for app.
    – in case you have to sync Contacts and People details, then you should use your official Gmail account to sync it.
  • in case your device is running 100% stock Android firmware, then you can stop worrying as the installation process of Android 5.0.1 Lollipop Update will not remove any files from your device and you won’t be forced to apply the ‘factory reset’.
  • this is a guide that has to be used by advanced users, we cannot be held responsible in case you end up bricking your device, nor in case you delete any data from your phone.
  • read the entire post and do not skip any steps.
  • Now that you’ve read all of the above you can continue to the next part of this post and learn how to flash a brand new Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update for your smartphone.
Read the entire tutorial first and do not skip any steps.

These were all the steps that you had to take in order to complete the installation process of this new official update.
In case the installation process of this new firmware doesn’t boot in normal mode, then you will have to retry the entire tutorial more than once. Also, make sure to check the ‘notes’ below in case you have problems with the installation.
    NOTE 1:
In case ODIN says that the installation has failed, then you should try to repeat the guide. Make sure that the phone meets all requirements listed in the guidelines part of this post. Don’t skip any steps.
NOTE 2: In case ODIN says that the installation process was passed, but the Note 4 doesn’t show the Android 5.0.1 welcome screen after 30 minutes or in case it enters into a boot loop, then you will need to try and apply a ‘factory reset’.
Also, the ‘factory reset’ process needs to be used by Note 4 users that have previously flashed a custom ROM on it. Here’s how to apply the ‘factory reset’:
    • power off the Note 4, then boot it in Recovery Mode.
    • use the ‘wipe data/ factory reset’ in order to apply the process.
    • confirm.
    • now reboot the device in normal mode.
